"Chamak Challo" for Depika Padukone or Kareena Kapoor - - Ra.One Conflict Before it Flicks

Throwing around rumours is not something new in the land of Bollywood. Even more than that, it's not uncommon to see actresses pit against one another, especially when it's jealousy speaking. The actresses that are currently on the outs are leading ladies, Kareena Kapoor and Deepika Padukone.

Rumors have it that Deepika has gone around claiming to any open ears that she was the first choice for the "Chamak Challo" song sequence her upcoming flick, Ra.One. She goes as far as to say that Shahrukh Khan had her in mind as the number one choice for this item song.

As we all know, Kareena is not one to sit back and listen. After hearing such rumors, she denied the false news and claimed that Deepika is only creating a ruckus to gain fame for the Dum Maaro Dum title track, an item song which never really got the response that was expected from it.

What's more surprising is that "Chamak Challo" isn't even an item number. The song belongs to the character that Kareena will be portraying in the film. The question that now arises is, how could Deepika have ever been considered for the said song if no such sequence has been planned for the film? Even the director of Ra.One, Anubhav Sinha, claims that Deepika had never been approached for an item song in the film.

Ra.One is an upcoming Hindi science-fiction super hero movie featuring Shahrukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal. The film is set for release on October 26, 2011.

Kareena Kapoor

Kareena Kapoor ( born on September 21, 1980), often informally referred to as Bebo, is an Indian actress who appears in Bollywood films.

During her career, Kapoor has received five Filmfare Awards and has been noted for her performances in a range of film genres; these include her work from contemporary romantic dramas to comedies, period films to major Bollywood productions, as well as less publicised independent films.

Born into a family where both her parents, Randhir Kapoor and Babita, and her elder sister Karisma were actors, Kapoor faced the media spotlight from a very young age, but did not make her acting debut until the 2000 film Refugee.

Her melodrama Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... became India's highest-grossing film in the overseas market in 2001, and is one of her biggest commercial successes to date. After receiving negative reviews for a series of repetitive roles, Kapoor accepted more demanding parts in order to avoid being typecast, and was consequently recognized by critics for displaying greater versatility as an actress.

Her portrayal of a sex worker in Chameli (2004) proved to be the turning point in her career and she was later noted for her performances in the critically acclaimed Dev (2004) and Omkara (2006).

In 2007, Kapoor received her first Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her performance in Jab We Met, a romantic comedy directed by Imtiaz Ali. She went on to play the lead female role in the thriller Kurbaan (2009), for which she earned critical acclaim, and the drama 3 Idiots (2009), which became the highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time.
